1010! Puzzle: Tips & Tricks #2

1010! Puzzle: Tips & Tricks #2

Tips & Tricks #2 on 1010! Puzzle
#1 Start in the corners!
The corners are the worst part of the game as it can trap you early on. I always like to start off in a corner rather than dead right in the center. This will give you more of a direction path and allow you to avoid being cornered. Building around the corners will give you both vertical and horizontal options on any given move. Especially you get 2x2 and 3x3 square which gives you more options to think for the best build paths. Or getting the big L-shape can be awkward at times. You do not want the big L-shape to place in a such a way that it create holes. Putting it near the corners will hasten your decision making.

#2 Fill in the holes or spaces!
At times, a lone purple block will come to you and you will feel like you are on top of the world. Rather than placing it anywhere, it is best to use these as hole fillers if there are any single space gaps or rows to remove. Yes! This is one of the more important tricks you should implement in every game. It matters a lot for the next 3-6 steps. Remember this game is about removing as many lines as possible. Filling up the holes which help you clear 3-4 lines in the next 3-6 steps can be really critical. Do not underestimate this trick! Always place the 1x1 at the most potential line to get cleared in the next few steps.

#3 Work with the most difficult block first!
When you've got lots of space it's tempting to just dump their pieces into the game to get things moving. Don't do this. Every block counts! Instead when you're given three blocks at a time, all of the different shapes. Be sure to consider where to play the larger or more complex shape block, especially when your 1010! board begins to look busy. The reason behind is simple, if you managed to settle the most irregular shapes like big L-shape or 5x1 line first, the next 2 pieces should not be an issue. Therefore be creative in line removing!

#4 Explore in ways you can clear multiple lines!
Experiment and look for ways to clear multiple lines both vertically and horizontally at the same time! For me, I like to build vertically and horizontally and leaving either 3x3 or 2x2 square empty. When you get the pieces you need, free the spaces! If you managed to pull this off, you should free 3 vertical columns and 3 horizontal rows immediately for 3x3 square. 2 by 2 columns and rows for 2x2 square. This is one of my favorite ways to clear lines when my board is not filled with holes and spaces. Do not be afraid to explore other methods, clearly, multiple lines is a sure way for you to last longer.

#5 Keep playing and don't stop!
Yes, this may sound like a no-brainer of a tip, but when it comes to 1010! the secret to success, and arguably the most important tip to remember, is to practice regularly. You might have all the strategy in the world, but if you don't have a bit of luck, you won't get too far neither. So don't let yourself get discouraged by a poor game and keep on playing having our tips in mind. Restart your game and learn from your mistakes. Soon you'll be racking up high scores, eventually, you will surely get a super high score to be proud of!
