Clicker Heroes: Builds

Clicker Heroes: Builds

Builds on Clicker Heroes
Builds are the playing styles of Clicker Heroes. There are three types of Builds:
Active - For players who are very focused in their game, and play very often, without getting distracted.
Idle - For players who spend a lot of time on other windows and tabs, and aren't on the game that much.
Hybrid - For players who want to go active at the end of the run, but find it unnecessary to stay active near the beginning.

Because Hybrid is the most efficient, this page will mainly discuss on Hybrid, and will also talk a little bit about idle, and not Active, since players should go idle if they don't yet have an Auto Clicker. Otherwise, the player should just go hybrid. Hybrid players should invest in Timelapses, while active players need not do so.

Idle
Idle builds require players not to click or use skills, lest idleness be canceled, and so will the effect of Libertas, Nogardnit, and Siyalatas, until the player doesn't click for 60 seconds again. The key thing with the idle method is that you must not click on the monsters. You can still click on the clickable that appears without the idle status breaking, but you must click right on them and only once. Other than making sure you don't break the idle timer, all you have to worry about is leveling up your heroes enough to keep going through the floors. Some players have it in idle mode for the entire time, but use all of their abilities (usually 8-wait-1-8-7-2-3) when they fight bosses nearing their Highest Zone Ever (HZE) because abilities will still give a DPS boost if used in mass quantities.

Ancients
The player should get all of the Ancients except for Berserker, Bhaal, Chawedo, Energon, Fragsworth, Hecatoncheir, Juggernaut, Kleptos, Sniperino and Vaagur (optional) as these only work if the player is not idle. A player can summon Vaagur for some Energized Dark Rituals during runs which might be helpful to progress few more zones. This makes for a total of 16 Ancients in the idle build. Although this means that an idle build requires less Ancient summoning and Ancient leveling than an active build, this means that the Hero Souls are spread out across fewer Ancients that an active build (more additive, less multiplicative).

Hero Upgrades
Besides the main DPS heroes (The Masked Samurai, Atlas and beyond), the player should level the following heroes only to these certain levels (not past) in order to get the upgrades to increase DPS, Gold Gold gained, and click damage:
- The Wandering Fisherman - 75
- Betty Clicker - 75
- Leon - 75
- Broyle Lindeoven, Fire Mage - 10
- King Midas - 75
- Abaddon - 75*
- Amenhotep - 50 (150 when preparing to ascend)
- Beastlord - 75
- Aphrodite, Goddess of Love - 100*
- Shinatobe, Wind Deity - 25
- Grant, the General - 50
- Frostleaf - 75
- Bomber Max - 100
- Gog - 100
- Moeru - 8000
- Zilar - 8000

Hybrid
Hybrid builds are sort of like a combination of a Click build and an Idle build, requiring players to stay idle up until they stop insta-killing when they switch over to playing active until the end of the run. Because the three main active Ancients (Fragsworth, Bhaal, and Juggernaut) do not work well with the idle ancients, this means that not all the Ancients can easily function together. This is the only downside of a hybrid build, as it requires the player to level up all the Ancients, meaning they will be at lower levels, and less strong.

For example, the amount of Hero Souls it takes to level Fragsworth to 100 with a hybrid build when all Ancients are leveled optimally, is more than the amount of Hero Souls that it takes to level Fragsworth to 100 with an active build when all Ancients are leveled optimally. Remember that by the time the player clicks in a hybrid build, the idle ancients aren't functioning anymore, so everything relies on the active Ancients and the neutral Ancients making it feel the same as an active build.

Hybrid build happens to be the most efficient of the three builds after the 1.0 update, as Idle doesn't get as far into the zones(deep runs are better, now with Transcendent Power), and Active stops insta-killing sooner than Hybrid, slowing the game down.

Ancients
The player should get all of the Ancients. The ratio between Fragsworth and Siyalatas should be at 0.5 when the first Auto Clicker is bought and has Siyalatas over 200,000. Once the player can get infinite Lucky Strikes, the player should move it up to 1, and then to 2 when the player can get infinite energized Lucky Strikes.

Leveling Ancients:
- Bhaal = Fragsworth
- Juggernaut = Fragsworth^0.8.
- Argaiv = max(Fragsworth, Siyalatas)
- Libertas is still based on Siyalatas.
- Mimzee, Mammon, Atman, Bubos, Chronos, Dogcog, Dora, Fortuna, and Kumawakamaru are based on Argaiv, not Siyalatas.
- Player is free to choose how to level Revolc, Vaagur and skill Ancients.
