Game Review
Do you still tower defense genre flash games? *raise hands* I still do! I enjoy tower defense games for one reason, addictive. They have grown and evolved alongside preexisting types, from shooters to strategy games. In my opinion, they are one of the fastest growing genre in recent years. Giants and Dwarves TD is a different kind from the regular tower defense you used to play.

Giants and Dwarves TD is a Tower Defense game with a twist. I'm surprised at the ideas and concept that is brought into the game. It totally gave me a whole new experience. That idea was to introduce heroes that you can command your champion and cast powerful spells to destroy the invaders. I personally thinks and admit it's very cool to be controlling a defender. You always feel like you're actively participating in a battle instead of, waiting for your tower to clear then hit the next wave button. Maybe on the other hand, its because I love playing Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games too. I am kind of bias here. :)

The next interesting feature is the giants that attack alongside regular enemy minions. These huge monsters can pack a punch and you will need to concentrate all your firepower to get them down quite, oftentimes all the little imps and goblins would run through and destroy your castle. Thankfully, you can set target priority for each tower. So far, there four main units of towers in the game; swordsmen, archers, mages and cannons. As you upgrade, the tower grows in height and add more units. It's fairly typical but still highly relevant for such games.

Giants and Dwarves TD is a fun tower defense game with lovely graphics and all the traits that make TD games this addictive to play especially watching my defenders climbing up the Golem. My only request is to speed up the game half the time faster; The animation is dragging the game for too long... To end off, Giants and Dwarves TD is easily one of my favorite tower defense flash game. I'm looking forward to see more!

Guidelines for Giants and Dwarves TD
Analyze the map design before you start building towers. Enemies may come from several directions and it is usually a good idea to start building towers at locations that can hit enemies no matter where they come from. General thumb of rule, I love building Cannon tower in every first slot, then every second slot and each end of any path line followed by Swordsman tower. The rest will mostly be Mage towers. Upgrade the towers one by one and never bother about building Archer towers!

Be reminded that you get extra money if you start waves early. This can be very useful during the beginning as it may help you build additional towers, however I won't advice you hit the early wave button when you are fighting a giant. This is optional but you can actually order towers to attack specific kinds of enemies. For instance only enemies with the lowest hitpoints or the target that is weakest against the tower's attacks. This is very important and helpful in the later levels, especially between 10 to 14. Lastly, Berserk temporarily increases unit attack speed for a short period of time. Abuse this skill on giants, they'll hate it.

Pro Tip: Don't underestimate the power of the Hero. Micro him and he can take down giants on his own.
